Live demo · a real first week

Meet Nia. One bench, two hands,
zero time for content.

Nia Reyes runs Saltbrook Leather Goods alone. This is her actual first week on The Pulse - including the bump. Then try the drop zone yourself. Nothing here posts anywhere; it's a sandbox.

Her first week, as it happened

Day 1 · Tuesday, 9:40pm

Nia signs up on her phone after closing the workshop. Setup took 2 minutes. Her voice note for the register: "Warm, plain, no hype. I talk about the bench before the idea. Never salesy."

Day 2

First seed, typed one-handed with wax on the other: "spent 3 hours saddle stitching one strap today. machine does it in 40 seconds. mine will outlive the machine."

Three hours on one strap today. A machine does it in forty seconds. Mine will outlive the machine.

(skipped - no photo attached. The Pulse told her instead of failing silently. She added a bench photo the next day.)

Day 4

Voice memo while driving: a rambling minute about why she stopped taking wholesale orders. The Pulse pulled one clean thread out of it.

I stopped taking wholesale this year. Not because the orders were bad. Because every bag I made for a shelf was a bag I didn't make for a person. Small isn't the compromise. It's the point.

Day 5

The bump: her first draft in the Saltbrook voice came out too polished - 'artisanal' appeared twice. She edited it in the queue, and the register got a new line: "never say artisanal." The law sharpened.

New batch of veg-tan came in darker than the sample. We don't fight the hide. We redesign around it. The fall line just changed color. You're welcome.

Day 7

Nia goes quiet - market weekend, no seeds. The daily engine notices nothing is scheduled and pulls a reserve she'd approved on Day 3. The storefront stays open while she sells at the stall.

Every Saltbrook piece ships with the scrap it was cut from. Proof it was one hide, one bench, one pair of hands. Keep the scrap. It's the birth certificate.

Seven days. Five posts. One edit.

Total time Nia spent on content this week: under nine minutes, all of it from her phone. The storefront stayed open the whole time.
